Job Description
How proficient with Java does the individual need to be: Average on Java is fine, but needs to be proficient on the devops and release management side
Deep understanding of version control systems (svn, Git, etc, including branching and merging strategies
Experience with software build tools (Maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
Experience with Linux environments and scripting languages
Experience working with cloud platforms (EC2, Rackspace Open Cloud, etc and cloud automation tools (Chef, Puppet)
Proven troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
Proficiency in various scripting languages such as bash, ruby, python and perl
Able to work with cross-functional teams (Dev, QA, Systems Engineering, etc)
Detail-oriented and can design, document, and enforce processes
Able to work in an environment at a fast pace and with changing priorities
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to learn
Project management skills and a J2EE background are also must haves - they will take 50% of the individual''s time
