Position: RM- Release Management Lead (Lead Software Configuration Management)
Location: Des Plains, IL
Duration: Full Time

Skill’s: Responsibilities
The Lead SCM Engineer will be responsible for the following Configuration Management (CM) objectives
Very good DevOps experience is required to qualify resumes
Direction settings to team and organization for Release Management perspective.
Maintaining daily CM workflow service level objectives
Transform CM by integrating DevOps concepts into the Wheels SDLC
Execute/Oversee the monitoring, scheduling, and performance of all software builds, releases, and distributions to QA, Staging, and Production.

They will supervise the work of other SCM engineers, providing guidance, mentoring and input into their review process
Configuration status accounting - Recording and reporting all the necessary information on the status of the release process
Configuration auditing - Ensuring that configurations contain all their intended parts and are sound with respect to their specifying documents, including requirements, architectural specifications and user manuals
Build management - Managing the process and tools used for builds
Process management - Ensuring adherence to the organization''s CM process
Teamwork - Facilitate team interactions related to the process
Issue tracking - Making sure every build, move or release has traceability back to the source.
Define, develop, maintain, improve & distribute the CM processes and procedures
Manage all components that are “in a state of change” and identify the risk of cross-impacts & identify all affected applications.
Administer source code version control system, and conduct version control, branching, merging, labeling for multiple release versions of multiple applications.
Monitor and perform software builds, releases and distribution to test and production environments
Administer and control software project configurations
Administer SCM and quality measurement tools used throughout the development lifecycle
Collect metric data for reporting, analysis and continuous improvement
Close collaboration with Architecture and Infrastructure teams to adapt CM processes and tools as new development technology and platforms are evaluated and introduced.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum 5 year’s experience working with software configuration management
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills are required
Strong collaborative persona to work across Development and Operations
Collaborate and coordinate with teams across geographies
Experience with multiple SCM tools, configuration management processes and related operating environments:
o Key tools and technologies include PowerShell, Octopus, Git, SubVersion (SVN), AdminStudio, Batch Scripting
Demonstrated success implementing DevOps concepts in a Microsoft development environment
Agile Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery experience
Strong experience with Microsoft platforms, including .NET, Windows Server, and SQL Server
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and development methodologies
Proven experience of implementing successful parallel development streams and multiple releases using branching, merging and labeling is required
Highly analytical and detail oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to function both independently and as part of a team
Exhibit initiative and creativity and commitment to excellence and quality
Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience to include minimum of 5 years of extensive work experience with software configuration management
