Title: QA Test Engineer
Location: Redwood City, CA 94063
Duration: 6 months

Responsibilities
To plan, build and run strategic IT capabilities in support of scientific workflows.
Accountable for Build and Run support of local IT capabilities and systems.
Will be working in an agile team to ensure quality deliverables for our internal scientific workflow applications and various COTS application integrations.
Will create detailed and well-structures test plans and test cases, and automate test cases where possible.
Will need to be collaborative and influential with developers, IT Business partners, Business analyst and other cross functional groups to ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, tracked, and resolved.
Will serve as a customer advocate by helping to drive the software development process towards quality centric methodologies.
Create and document test plans, test data, test cases, and automated scripts to ensurefunctional coverage and quality for APIs, web applications, client-server, and mobile web applications
Implement tools and techniques supporting robust automation for web applications and services, and running test suites
Work with team to reduce error rates and perform root cause analysis of errors/trends

Required Skills
Strong ability to plan, create, automate and execute test plans and test cases in a fast-paced, challenging, mixed internal scientific workflow applications and COTS product environment.
Skilled in a variety of languages, frameworks, and tools for front-end test, API test verification and automation, such as Java, JavaScript, Selenium, Junit (or similar), Cucumber BDD framework and reporting tools (extent reports or similar
Perform web, API, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing – automated and manual as needed
Demonstrate ability to write and/or modify SQL queries to perform database validations
Demonstrate ability to build, maintain code repositories and test case management tools preferably using Team foundation Server (TFS)
Identify, document, and track all software defects to closure and implement process improvements
Firm understanding of quality engineering and Agile/Scrum practices, processed and techniques
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in a distributed team environment
Must be a self-starter with the ability to think outside the box to come up with innovative ideas

Desired Skills
Experience with Jenkins and/or Amazon Web Service (AWS) as a platform
Detail-oriented, with high attention to detail and ability to work on and coordinate multiple project assignments.
Demonstrated ability to create and support a dynamic culture of innovation and continuous improvement in a highly matrixed environment.

Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or other related technical degree or equivalent experience
8+ years’ professional Information Technology experience
Experience in Biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in drug discovery area, is a plus
