The Medicare Secondary Payer Systems Contractor (MSPSC) is a component of the Coordination of Benefits and Recovery Program (COB&R COB&R governs the pre and post pay Medicare claims processing and recovery of errant/conditional Medicare primary payments. The MSPSC is responsible for all PMLC and SDLC phases of the development life cycle in support of the Coordination of Benefits and Recovery Program (COB&R) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid program (CMS The program is comprised of applications which are housed under multiple platforms from mainframe, Windows, customized COTS products, mid-tier/web and in some cases a combination of environments.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Develops and performs automated software/systems testing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reviews and evaluates software products and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards.
2. Create automated scripts to be used for Return to Service (RTS), Functional, Regression and Load testing of MSPSC systems.
3. Develops, implements, and documents software/systems testing standards and procedures, and conducts automated testing.
4. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced Quality Assurance personnel, and brings automated and load testing best practices to the contract.
5. Prepares test data to satisfy test scenarios.
6. Performs automated testing of test cases and documents evidence of expected results being met.
7. Opens defects when found during testing, and coordinates with developer through resolution; retests defects when coding is complete.
8. Provide estimates on upcoming work.
9. Supports the UAT effort.
10. Maintains/gains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
2. 5-8 years of experience creating automated test scripts and performing automated and load test execution on batch systems and web front-end systems.
3. 5-8 years of experience with HPE automation tools; including Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Virtual User Generator (VuGen), LoadRunner Suite, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Performance Center.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures used in automated software testing.
2. Proficiency in the use of one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
3. Proficiency in running basic SQL queries.
4. General understanding of coding/scripting structure and best practices.
5. Proven ability to handle simultaneous assignments.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with other testers and developers.
8. Knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) is preferred but not required.
9. Understanding of Descriptive Programming methodology is preferred but not required.
10. Knowledge of any of the following languages is preferred but not required: C, Java, JavaScript, VB Script, and HTML.
