Test Automation Engineer working as the automation expert within a small, relatively new QA team. The Test Automation Engineers job will entail automating manual test scripts and building out and maintaining a test framework using the Telerik Test Studio test automation application. Strong automation tool experience is a must. Though the role is targeted primarily for automation some manual testing may be required from time to time.
Requirements
3 – 4 year experience in Software Testing, including significant experience performing web testing, web UI testing, scripting of web test automation and record/play back automation.
Strong Software test automation experience with Telerik Test Studio, Selenium, Visual Studio test automation, SOAP UI.
Must have working knowledge of continuous integration, automated tools, industry standards, and best practices in automation.
Experience with object oriented programming languages and techniques.
Experience with version control software.
Excellent analytical and debugging skills with strong technical aptitude.
Consistent ability to deliver on time and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent organization and communication skills - both written and verbal.
Excited about a high-velocity development environment and product cycle.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
Takes an active role in increasing the percentage of automated versus manual test cases.
Works as part of a scrum team in an agile environment.
Willingness to step-in and manually test as necessary.
Provide automation in support of release and deployment of software.
Develop logging and reporting of test execution and results.
Come up with creative ways to automate as much testing as possible.
Investigate failed tests.
Log defects as needed and participate in triage process.
Actively participates in the research, evaluation and implementation of automated testing tools and utilities.
