Position Description:
*ITI/RRS This Python developer is a hands-on technical lead who is comfortable coding/scripting 80% the day while also providing guidance to other team members. Additional responsibilities include mentoring the team, driving Agile methodology, help tracking the current tasks of the team members, and escalating issues as needed. The incumbent will need to have strong background in Python, Micro-services, REST APIs, and messaging techniques. Public Cloud work is a strong plus related to micro-services. Front-end design skills (Angular, Node, HTML/CSS, jQuery) are a strong plus.
Skills Required:
- 2+ years of Python development experience - Strong Python development background - Prior experience with process automation - Ability to create and consume REST APIs - Ability to write moderate to advanced SQL queries - Comfortable with Powershell and/or bash scripting - Comfortable with basic Windows and Linux admin tasks - Passion for increasing efficiency and removing redundant tasks. - Resourceful, able to learn rapidly with minimal supervision - Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical concepts
Experience Preferred:
Nice to have: - Cloud administration, support, or development experience (Azure, PCF, AWS) - Javascript, basic web development skills - Experience with an IT log aggregation platform such as Splunk or ELK - Operations, DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering experience - Automation and scripting (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc)
