The Software Developer II (Gateway) designs software based on specifications and implement design using Python, asynchronous TCP/IP on UNIX systems, and Oracle stored procedures. Debug, test and deploy applications for 24/7 operation. Work with clients to assess their needs, requirements and debug any problems they might have. Also provides design input for the specification of future developments.
Responsibilities:
? Provides software design, development, and support for the Company’s Payment platforms in highly specialized areas of programming.
? Recommends designs for the implementation of new or modified operating software programming applications and maintains existing applications using SDLC
? Builds software systems for customization for customers. Provides technical support and consulting services on systems software and application development to users. Builds software systems and products for external customers.
? Creates program designs, coding, testing, implementation, as well as documentation and works with applications related to the payment platform systems.
? Occasionally trains or mentors lower level developers when necessary.
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience:
? Master’s degree with 2+ years of development experience or Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of development experience
? Experience developing server side robust/resilient software applications (for high-volume, 24x7 uptime operations)
? Experience with Object Oriented language - Python and C/C++
? Experienced in UNIX/Linux (internal file io, tcp/ip, IPC etc, socket programming, http/soap API development, and Oracle PL/SQL & Stored Procedures
? Solid data modeling experience with databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL (table design, triggers, stored procedure development, etc)
? Experience in developing high-performing concurrent processing using Asynch-communications, Twisted or Tornado like Reactor pattern frameworks
Nice to Haves:
? Experience in payment processing platforms using protocol such as ISO8583, EPAS, Vital, Chase or First-Data payment protocols
? Experience in payment card settlement such as terminal based or aggregate methods of batch processing
? Experience in encryption and security symmetric/asymmetric key based encryptions, PKI, signing and key management
Skills or Special Abilities:
? In-depth knowledge of programming tools and modern office practices and procedures.
? Skilled in problem solving and analytical reasoning. Strong engineering skills.
? A detail-oriented and highly communicative personality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
