Project Portfolio Manager
Tarrytown, NY
Duration: 6-12 Months (possibility to be extended or go perm

Interviews: 1st will be over the phone. 2nd will be in person.
Need USC, GC on our W-2

The position will:

Run and improve the working of a project management office
Maintain standards for project management to apply consistently as part of program (using project plan standard templates, standards for resourcing, schedules, reporting
Establish integrated plan management to successfully control successful completion of numerous projects
Enhance project quality and status reporting the individual will oversee a project management team and also actively manage projects as necessary.
Typical scope of the projects lifecycle involves understanding client requirements, writing SOWs and developing a quote, structuring projects, performing the detailed planning, and managing project execution, completion and closing of projects.
Candidates should have experience with project management of IT Technology projects and have three to five years’ experience in program / portfolio management of projects.
Candidates with PMP certification are preferred

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing a portfolio of IT projects
Experience with Project Server/portfolio manager, Clarity or similar portfolio management tools.
Working experience planning and organizing IT infrastructure/system projects
Knowledge of Data Center Services (Cloud, Network Services, desktop engineering, etc
Five (5) years’ experience leading a project team
MS Office and MS Project
PMP methodologies
The ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with a Portfolio management tool

Degree:

Bachelor’s degree in a related area, preferably Computer Science or five years of equivalent experience.
Have relevant certifications for the skills/infrastructure/service area/domain, i.e. PMP certification.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the execution of all projects at the client.
Oversight functions for this position include:
Timely creation of SOW to client’s project needs
Staff projects appropriately and a smooth kick off
Monitor project progress and status
Effective and timely project close and invoicing
Lessons learned and continuous improvement
Work closely with the client as the lead IT program manager
Act as the single point of contact for all projects in the portfolio
Facilitate meetings and communications activities.
Track, measure and report on project SLA requirements
Conduct periodic surveys of customers
Manage the client relations and process for all projects from requirements gathering phase to project close.
Partner with CAE to maximize project work and client satisfaction

Customer Interface:

Excellent customer support and interpersonal skills
Possesses experience in the overall responsibility for structuring a project
Possess a proven track record in managing infrastructure related projects, i.e. network, security, data center, enterprise server and storage, desktop, printers, infrastructure applications, VoIP, fiber plant, etc.
Performs detailed planning, project execution management and completion of moderate or large projects.
Provide oversight and help in creating Statement of Work(s) for client’s project needs and work with the Client Account Executive in obtaining client concurrence and approval.
Defines the phase deliverables
Tracks milestones and incurred expenses versus planned expenses
Schedules roles and resources
Evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans.
Manages the development of the technical strategy.
Assigns resources and tasks
Manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting
Oversees development of standards, change control, customer support, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
Follow up with key clients regularly throughout the issue resolution process to provide smooth communication.
Provide timely and comprehensive status reports that maintain service level agreements
Provide up-to-date information to clients in response to specific inquiries
Develop follow up methodology for commitments prior to requested date.
Provide advance notifications to management regarding potential issues before they occur.

Attend weekly staff meetings and provide input on status reports
Document issue resolutions clearly and accurately

Security and Safety:

Adhere to all basic security and safety standards according to Customer’s requirements.

Personnel:

Attend performance planning sessions with PMO IT Architect and Technical Lead on a regular basis to manage work plans
Work with Account Executive/SDM on formal performance evaluations and education plans that address job performance as well as professional growth
