Job Description:
The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Division of Epidemiology’s Statistical Unit is charged to maintain and enhance the statewide Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS), the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS), and the Electronic Syndromic Surveillance System (ESSS These are mission critical electronic systems to effectively monitor and respond to over 75 reportable diseases and to other public health emergencies and inform statewide policy decisions.
The project manager position will assist the Director of the Statistical Unit in managing and coordinating the design, development, testing, and implementation of various modules added to CDESS and will be responsible for the oversight of daily activities associated with the project and the project’s programmers.
Provide project charters and project plans for various CDESS modules (Zika pregnancy registry; infant follow-up module; vector surveillance system for mosquito, mammal, and tick; case notification messages to CDC; and foodborne illness complaint module linking with Outbreak Management System
Manage the development and implementation of CDESS modules.
Coordinate project assignments, project team meetings, and resolve as appropriate any issues/concerns raised by users.
Perform system testing and coordinate user acceptance testing.
Provide weekly status reports, project status reports, and meeting minutes.
Prepare briefings and other documents as requested in the normal course of the project.
Candidates should have at least 84 months experience and a majority of the following should apply:
