The program office provides strategic and operational support to the Data Center program. This typically involves helping the program and projects perform appropriate levels of - tracking and reporting, information management, financial accounting, risks and issue management, quality control, change control and benefits tracking. The Project Manager IV, under the general guidance of the Program Manager - * May have responsibility for a set of interrelated projects of large size and/or high complexity, and/or multiple projects of mixed complexity levels and sizes. * May also provide support to one or more projects of high complexity as part of a portfolio or program team, under the direction of senior level leadership * Responsible for achieving program and project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to Company methodologies and processes * Performs responsibilities with a significant degree of independence and expertise in managing multiple competing objectives and communicates complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end user personnel. * Develop and maintain project cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts * Responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects * Models the behaviors and mentors more junior colleagues in the concepts and application of a project focused culture within the Information Technology department * Oversee the creation of project artifacts, such as project plans, metrics, team and stakeholder communications, resource requirements and schedules * Identify and acquire project resources * Monitor and report project performance against the project plan and take corrective action when required * Ensure that requirements are developed, understood and prioritized * Ensure that deliverables meet the agreed upon requirements and are completed on schedule, within budget, and with the defined level of quality * Manage the project risk, issue and change request process * Manage the work of project-based resources and the day-to-day interactions with suppliers * Identify and highlight risks and issues within the program and escalate appropriately * Devise effective mitigation and escalation strategies to address risks * Lead regular program/project reviews with project sponsors and stakeholders * Propose governance structures and processes to drive and manage the project * Drive projects through project governance methodology and ensure compliance to stage gates * Capture lessons learned and communicate to the PMO and EPMO for sharing with other projects
Skills: * Minimum of 10+ years Work Experience required * 10+ years experience as a Program or Project Manager for multiple, large-scale IT Infrastrucutre implementation projects required * Experience managing projects to migrate an on-premise data center to a colocated data center OR VMware Cloud * Experience managing projects to migrate/build disaster recovery infrastructure in a colocated data center or VMware Cloud * Must demonstrate action-oriented leadership when faced with a project roadblock * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to be successful * Experience with Tier-1 consulting or IT Infrastructure implementation partners is desirable * Experience in Utility industry is desirable * Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools* Experience with planning and managing all phases of IT Infrastructure projects * Demonstrated understanding of leadership principles, resource management practices, and organizational change management techniques * Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities within a shared services organization model
