Our client, one of the twelve regional Reserve banks in the Fed System, seeks an accomplished Project Manager.
Description:
The candidate will lead an application development team charged with creating and implementing new releases of a web-based system.
Responsibilities include developing work breakdown structures, detailed project schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Much of the requirements gathering and definition phases will be performed using conference calls and occasional out-of-town travel.
The project manager will direct the technical staff yet that staff will report to their resource manager.
Directing technical staff in a matrix organization. Creation of a complex project schedule with tasks based on specified methodology. Daily monitoring and updating of the project plan using MS Project.
Coordinating testing with test group manager and deployments with CM team. Management of risks, issues and scope change control.
Creation of project variance and exception reports using MS Project / MS Server. Weekly reporting to upper management. Participation in the creation and delivery of PMBOK artifacts.
Requirements:
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Must have 3+ years of experience managing medium to large scale complex projects with an established record of delivering systems on time and within budget.
Must have 3+ years'' experience managing OO project development efforts from inception through implementation.
Must be resourceful and creative in identifying ways to mitigate issues and risks to avoid project delays.
A thorough understanding of the Unified Process.
Familiar with JEE technologies.
Experience working with geographically dispersed clients a plus.
Experience with Agile/Iterative development projects is desired.
PMP Certification or equivalent certification is desired.
