Description:
Senior Business Project Manager/Program Manager – Business Insurance - Strategic Planning and Execution. SP&E supports the achievement of the Business Insurance vision and market strategies through persistent, passionate change leadership and superior project execution. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced project/program management experience including a full understanding of the total project life cycle, establishing processes to enable management and reporting at multiple levels, and have the ability to drive and deliver a high quality product as an individual contributor.

Primary duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for the management of multiple business implementation initiatives and/or related activities and processes as part of an execution and strategy team.

This individual may also be responsible for overseeing and managing the total project lifecycle of other assigned projects from initiation through implementation and closure, including communications and training. In some instances, the Senior PM will also be involved in the facilitation of activities during the origination phase of the project. The Senior PM provides team leadership on individual projects, works with minimal supervision and is responsible for applying advanced Project Management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to Project deliverables, processes, and systems in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations. The Senior PM operates within defined parameters using a proven Project Management Methodology and SP&E’s Implementation Framework with flexibility to merge different methodologies in accomplishing collective goals.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal, written, and collaboration skills required
- Must have the ability to cultivate robust and sustainable working relationships with both business and technology in order to foster a cohesive cross-functional team environment
- Must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, a high degree of flexibility
- Must be able to drive progress in the face of ambiguous or changing situations
- Must demonstrate previous experience facilitating steering committees and stakeholders as well as ongoing project meetings
- Must be able to navigate and be successful in a matrixed environment
- Proven ability to manage without direct reports and influence others in a matrixed environment
- Manage project budget by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action
- Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently

Work experience:
- Typically possess a minimum of 7+ years of Project/Program Management or equivalent experience in the total project life cycle with increasing levels of responsibility
- Experience managing business facing projects or business implementation projects is required
- Experience within a formal PMO is a plus
- Proficient with Sharepoint is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel skills

Education/Course Of Study:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- PMP certification a plus
- Formal Change Management knowledge and experience preferred
