Job Description :
Position: Project Manager(Power or Electrical Company experience)
Duration: Contract, 9 months – potential for extension up to 2 years and/or permanent hire
Location: NW Washington DC 20068

Position Overview
· The company hired a consultant to go through roughly 45% of their substations, to perform physical walkdowns of the substations, evaluating structural components of the substations, and lastly, providing recommendations for repair.
· The consultant provided a database of the substations along with findings and images, primarily civil structural items, for their review.
· The selected resource will be taking that database and will be tasked with transferring the items into a program for the company.
· These projects will not be “bulky” and could be as small as 1-5 task items.
· This resource will be provided a cost estimating support resource, to assist the project.

Responsibilities
· Translate an MS Access database of substation rehabilitation artifacts into an overarching project plan, consisting of smaller engineering projects.
· Create individualized project plans, for the next five years, related to civil engineering rehabilitation
· Provide cost estimations for each individual project within this greater rehabilitation program

Required Skills
· Minimum 4 years of experience in project management
· MS Access and MS Excel experience
· Utility industry / Power or Electrical Company experience
· Strong knowledge with civil engineering work and components, such as transformers, electrical components, and general civil engineering knowledge.
· Ability to categorize the work into packages, and provide a plan to encapsulate the work for several substations
Strong project scheduling experience
o Ability to create schedules for large number of items that are scattered on different substation.
