Senior Project Manager – Contract
Parsippany, NJ

The purpose of the Project Manager is to ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery. The Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and monitor medium sized scope and budget projects. The Project Manager will partner with key business stakeholders to ensure a successful start-up and completion of a project. Projects typically impact a single business unit or functional area. The Project Manager is expected to work under moderate supervision with oversight provided by the Director, Project Management.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Ensure predictable, consistent and successful project delivery
Provide a complete view of the overall project to the organization and all stakeholders
Exhibit proactive behavior by engaging in project planning activities, including but not limited to: defining the overall scope of the project; creating and maintaining a consolidated timeline highlighting the major milestones and associated dates for project activities; identifying and communicating project dependencies and impacts; putting mechanisms in place to set expectations and ensure ongoing control of the project (e.g. kick off meeting, overall project management approach, risk management, issues management, change control, etc
Define project governance outlining roles and responsibilities and decision rights
Ensure success criteria defined upfront to promote alignment and actively manage to expect project outcomes
Keep all stakeholders (internal & external) engaged in the project, aligned on expected outcomes and informed about what is occurring throughout the project
Proactively communicate the project''s progress on an on-going basis, ensuring transparency throughout project lifecycle
Provide leadership and key stakeholders with the information and venues to make effective, timely decisions
Oversee the development, maintenance or enhancement of systems and programs to ensure they are according to client specifications
Collaborate with other IT managers to plan for needed resources and communicate updates to the centralized resource utilization plan as project conditions change

Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in business or technology
Minimum of 5 years project management experience
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes and methodologies (PMBOK)
Strong technical aptitude and computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite and MS Project
Able to demonstrate basic understanding of the deployed technologies across the enterprise and of multiple system platforms (Mainframe, Tandem, UNIX, Windows)
Experience in driving medium size projects

Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification
Experience in banking, financial services, and/or software industries
Experience managing Credit Card projects in an SDLC Waterfall or Agile environment
