Job Description :
Project Manager - PMP
Duration – 18 months
Location – Springfield, IL


Description:

1. Overall planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling of assigned projects
2. Using project management procedures and processes, developing and managing the project plan for the creation of mainframe, client/server and/or Internet based computer systems including facilitating the establishment of estimates, timelines, milestones, risk assessments and contingency plans;
3. Preparing and distributing project status reports and other communications;
4. Assuring that project activities and deliverables are within project scope
5. Managing resources leading to successful project implementation
6. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with pertinent process / system owners and other stakeholders in order to promote an effective partnership between the technical and business components of the Agency;
7. Working independently, with direction from BIP management to effectively implement assigned initiatives

Education, Experience and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related fields;
Five or more years of progressively responsible project management experience with an emphasis on managing the development of client/server and/or Internet applications, comprehensive knowledge of procedures and techniques of project management;
A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
