General Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing projects and enterprise-wide initiatives aimed at supporting corporate operations and enterprise strategic direction. The candidate will be expected to manage project teams, resources and stakeholders as well as the overall project life cycle on assigned engagements: initiation, planning, execution, and closure of a project. The position will also be responsible for contributing to the growth and maturity of the PMO by evangelizing the PMO vision, mission and value across the Beacon network

The ideal candidate must demonstrate leadership abilities in project management prioritization, resource management, planning, scope management, and timely/effective responses to project changes and risks. This individual must be able to work independently while keeping business and PMO executive leadership apprised of project activities and risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Partner with business teams to define and manage the scope, strategy and delivery of projects
Develop and maintain project schedules and resource plans clearly defining dependencies and gaps
Conduct Project Team meetings and situational analysis regularly to ensure project health and clear communication to all sponsors and stakeholders
Provide clear and concise project tracking, reporting and team accountability. This includes but is not limited to meeting minutes, weekly status reporting, action item tracking, regular project plan maintenance, metrics reporting, budget reporting, steering committee meetings, etc.
Closely monitor project resources, tasks, risks and milestones and when necessary, make corrections
Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
Ensure that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting business objectives.
Build relationships and partner with staff personnel and subject matter experts across departments to ensure coordination across activities.
Define project success criteria and communicate to involved parties throughout project life cycle
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of company strategic objectives, product offerings, platform/system enhancements, and any industry, legislative, or regulatory changes that may impact the company portfolio of products and services.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Significant experience in building and managing project plans and matrix resources
Developed presentation skills, interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
An approachable style that just makes people want to work with you - and that helps build great relationships between other people and groups.
Comfortable driving solution progress forward – even when your team does not have the answers yet. Dealing with the unknown and uncertainty is no big deal for you.
You keep people accountable and know when to “push” vs “pull”
Capable and innovative problem-solver using sound judgement to make business decisions that drive results and solve customer problems.
You don’t like to stand by when you notice opportunity for improvement… if there is something that could work better for your project, team, or Beacon you speak up and drive the dialog
Strong organizational, communication/presentation, planning, and analytical skills
Understanding of general business analysis methodologies, tools and techniques
Comfortable with group presentations and public speaking
Important emphasis on collaboration with a team-oriented work philosophy

Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

Education

Education: College Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

Licensures

Licensure: PMP preferred but not required (equivalent experience taken into consideration)

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience

7+ years of experience in Project Management within medical/behavioral health community or serving in similar roles within healthcare, professional services or management consulting industries.
