Job Description :
This position will provide project management duties for IT-related projects and initiatives that cannot be put on hold until the vacancy created by a state employee departure is filled.
This is a short term, not to exceed 6-months.
Working together with other BITS and/or division staff, this position will enable BITS to provide technology solutions and support to assist DWD staff to manage their workload demands and stay on schedule with critical business timelines for projects to implement federal and state mandated programs, make business process improvements - as well as refresh technology to assure that IT applications continue to perform as needed.
This position will participate in capacity planning and work with managers and team leads to secure resources for projects. The project manager will work with Bureau of Information Technology Services (BITS) Supervisors, Team Leads and staff to develop timelines, budget and scope of projects as well as other project artifacts. The project manager will assist BITS managers in their execution of initiatives such as DWDs conversion of its Application Portfolio Management processes to the state enterprise process, data gathering and preparation for the annual IT budget process, development of policy and procedures with respect to service delivery, etc.

Hardware/Software Environment:

DWD has consolidated many of their infrastructure services to DOA/DET. The environment today consists of, but is not limited to, the following: HP & Cisco blade & physical servers, VMWARE ESX Hosts, Windows 2008/2012 Server OS, NetBackup and CommVault backup software, NetApp storage, Cisco Network equipment, Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft System Center, Active Directory, and a variety of third party products and tools.
