Job Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, execution, controls and completion of multiple assigned projects within a strategic Program, which includes managing work stream tasks, ensuring consistency with Program strategy, commitments and goals. Leads the planning and implementation of multiple projects, facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverable s in collaboration with the stakeholders, Identifies, defines project tasks and resource requirements as well as develops full scale project plans utilizing the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.



Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation, scope planning and managing change control activities at program and work stream. Identifies, manages and solves issues effectively across multiple work streams. Performs work stream assessment and evaluation through status reporting and facilitated team meetings. Reports the project progress and contingency planning to Program Management. Develops and maintains program and/or project documentation based on internal standards, guidelines and best practices.



Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides guidance and overall project direction and support. Leads the project planning, scope definition and execution of project deliverable s and timeline

· Develops, manage and tracks full scale project plans and schedules. Manage changes to project scope and schedule, project change management process and practices

Keeps leadership and stakeholders informed of progress against commitments and escalate issues as needed
Maintains and manages Project Risks, Issues, Action Items and Decisions
Encourages open team dialogue to aid in expectation clarity, identify actionable opportunities and address team roadblocks to efficient delivery
Owns and facilitates daily team stand-up meetings for agile teams, runs team retrospectives, working to evoke dialogue and improve team dynamics
· Ensure adherence to the Program’s Change Management process

· Undertakes strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation. Identify, assess and manage risk and timely escalation and resolution; work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes

· Lead and facilitate IT and business user meetings to gather requirements and process information

· Produce and distribute comprehensive, accurate and detailed documentation (project artifacts and status reports) to appropriate parties. Ensure adherence to PM standards and guidelines as defined/implemented for the Program

· Monitor and measure project performance, health status and quality assurance

· Consult with cross-functional IT and business partners to understand and assess business processes; Lead the documenting of current and future state business processes.

· Lead the identification of gaps between current and future state business processes and road map for closing the gaps. (Executing closing the gaps could then be an additional project)

· Active participant in facilitating identification and documenting operational costs of processes

· Active participant in facilitating identification and documenting Organizational Change Management scope, communications and training materials

· Partner with work stream Business Owners and Product Owners to support user acceptance test planning and execution.



Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree

Years of direct/relevant experience required: 7 to 10 years of experience

· Minimum 7 years of experience as Project Manager with ideally at least 3 years’ experience in Health Care, Managed Care.

· Strong written and verbal collaboration skills are required

· Strong skills in Microsoft Project skills- Managing resources, dependencies, etc weekly within Microsoft Project

· Strong customer service skills and ability to follow through to resolve issues

· Ability to understand client expectation and recognize and resolve issues that may affect delivery.

· Experience with Process Improvement Methodology including defining and documenting business process workflows; Experience with workflow tools

· Proven ability to work closely with the business community as well as developers in a tactful and productive manner

· Working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, project plan

· Able to articulate and follow the project management and SDLC lifecycles

· Experience with Agile Development ; SCRUM framework

· Project Management Certificate is highly desirable

· Certified SCRUM Master is highly desirable

· Must be willing to work in the downtown Los Angeles California area.
