Project Manager
Location : San Rafael, CA
Duration: 3-6 Months Contract To Hire

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Delivery:
Actively and efficiently manage assigned projects through the entire project development lifecycle from inception through implementation and closeout.
Responsible for effective coordination of multiple projects and their interdependencies, ensuring that the projects within assigned program are completed according to corporate PMO standards.
Directly manages projects throughout all project stages in the areas of communication, schedule, budget, resources, scope, risk, and issues.
Track milestones and tasks with assigned teams and ensure project milestones are achieved on time to the satisfaction of our business partners.
Organize and facilitate project planning, weekly meetings, and presentations.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Orchestrate efforts with cross functional teams to execute on strategic launches, campaigns and events to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and updated.
Help to define project scope, cost and value and business case deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop project plans and associated communications documents.
Facilitate the project estimation process and identify all impacted resources needed to achieve project goals.
Properly plan training programs and define the production support models (onsite/offsite resources) when your projects ‘go live’ into production.
Works effectively with cross functional staff, including IT, other project managers, with multiple levels of leadership, business partners, and vendors as necessary.
Develops and revises project plans, monitors project budgets and financial health, works with users to understand problems, focuses on bringing issues to resolution, and escalate issues to the Enterprise PMO as necessary to meet timelines.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project implementation life cycle.
Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Collaborate with Enterprise PMO:
Work with Enterprise PMO to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Draft and submit Project Change Requests and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary in accordance to PMO Guidelines.
Work with Enterprise PMO to enhance best practices and tools for project execution and management
Conduct project post mortems with project team and Enterprise PMO and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Manage Expectations and Communication:
Communicate timelines, project health and deliverable approvals for cross-team understanding.
Serve as a single point of contact for your projects and effectively communicate project delivery health and financial health as requested by leadership.
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members, customers and other stakeholders.
Provide quick responses to customer concerns to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

Risk / Issues Management:
Identify and remove impediments that block the team’s ability to meet project objectives
Identify risks and issues and resolve conflicts within the project team. Communicate issues to the COE PMO Office and BU Leadership teams as they emerge.
Determine appropriate remediation actions for resolution, and follow through to make sure the problem is resolved in a timely manner.
Ensures that strategies are in place for risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
College degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Project Management or business management.
6+ of project/program management experience, including delivering both IT enabled and business process improvement projects.
Proven experience working with teams across multiple departments (cross-functional groups a plus
Extensive experience with industry best practices in relation to delivery methodologies, project management processes and standards.
Effectively use common PM tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, TFS, MS Office, Google docs, SharePoint, Trello, etc and are familiar with different types of SDLC/PMLC methodologies: Waterfall, Agile, RUP, ADM, etc.
Familiarity with Agile SDLC methodology.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products:
Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective delivery of executive level reports and in-person presentations.
Must be able to produce high-quality work as part of a fast-paced, dynamic team.
Ability to effectively manage and deliver on multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks on highly visible projects with aggressive timelines.
Ability to work extended hours when needed

Ability to serve as a change agent and influence behavior across departmental lines and at multiple levels.
