Duration: 3+ Months (has the opportunity to extend month to month until the end of 2018)
Job Description:
The purpose of the position is to provide hands-on project management duties to the Technical Service Publications content creation program involving the management of an external 3rd Party Solution provider who creates technical service publication content globally, across all brands and regions. Initially the position will focus the basics of getting the project organized such as document control, communication planning, workshop planning, establishing a RACI structure, identifying and managing the next steps, and management reporting.
The position has a heavy concentration on proper set-up of the relationship including establishment of the key foundational elements of the project defined as Commercial Terms, Organizational Structure, Service Level Agreement, Transition Plan and Authoring Standards. The planning phase will require strong project management skills combined with intense negotiations with external and internal entities in order to establish the scope of work, time requirements, and cost projections needed for an accurate transition and execution project plan.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a project plan which includes:
Schedule management: including resource planning, sequencing of tasks, estimating, identifying dependencies, and tracking procedures.
Scope management: including project initiation, scope planning, definition and change control procedures and approvals.
Cost management: resource planning, cost estimation, budgeting, realization of translation savings and control activities.
Risk Management: risk planning, identification, mitigation, and remediation.
Work Flow Management: facilitate method of prioritizing content creation projects in collaboration with 3rd Party provider to meet business requirements.
Quality Management: responsibility for monitoring project deliverables including quality control measurements.
Communications Management: management of project team communications with key stakeholders and steering committee.
Documentation Management: management of product documentation processes and ensure completeness.
Facilitates regularly scheduled project reviews and provides regular communication of project status to the project steering committee.
Ensures project milestones and stage gates are defined and met, are completed satisfactorily and adherence to controls is achieved.
Outline the governance process over the supplier service level agreement to ensure quality and standardization targets are achieved.
Work cross-functionally with HR, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Service, etc. to ensure all project implementation needs are addressed.
Maintain project schedule, backlog, issues log, calendar and all other project documentation.
Considerable involvement with Human Resources and staffing plans covering a span of 10 manufacturing locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 8 to 10 years of business related experience, including department or team management experience.
5 or more years of experience in project management, successful delivery of complex project(s) involving multiple team members.
Strong analytical skills, ability to use a fact-based approach to understand complex situations.
Ability to drive change, anticipate problems and propose solutions in a self-reliant manner.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to minimize distractions and prioritize value-add versus extraneous tasks & workload.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to develop reports and presentations, deliver presentations to subordinates, peers and senior managers.
Ability to travel internationally, work cross-culturally, gain trust & establish relationships with team members remotely located in different regions and time zones.
Strong ability to stick to principals & convictions, stay on course with project goals when encountering difficulty and resistance.
Education and Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
A level of project management certification (such as PMP or similar) and/or professional project management training (verifiable) is required.
A moderate level of problem solving skills are required.
Must be able to travel up to 40% - passport required.
Candidate must be available to travel internationally.
