The City of Palo Alto IT Department seeks an Enterprise Project Manager to lead the upcoming data standardization effort for the City's ERP system. This individual will work closely with the Enterprise Applications team, the IT Data Analyst, and other City departments to institute organization-wide data standardization and data governance policies as it pertains to ERP. This position will perform the data standardization audit work as it pertains to the City's ERP system.

Essential duties
Propel efforts to establish governance over data standardization, such as who is responsible for data standardization, what data is subject to standardization, what is the data standardization, and so forth.
Work with Departments to review the data within SAP and determine what will benefit most by standardizing data.
Review other systems and implement data standardization, where feasible and beneficial; especially in circumstances when the data feeds into SAP.
Help establish data standardization requirements for data cleansing during the upcoming ERP upgrade.
Help identify any data governance related tools that the City could leverage to discover, assess, define, monitor, and improve the quality of Enterprise data.
Required skills & knowledge
Understanding of the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK) standard
Knowledge and experience working with leading ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle supporting Finance and HR modules
Understanding of ERP systems and interfaces (Financial and Human Resources, Utilities) and the data flow within various applications
Past experience leading data standardization and governance projects would be an added advantage
Minimum 5 years of proven project management experience managing complex technology projects
