Job Description :
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, budget, oversee, coordinate and document the activities of multiple high priority projects. The Project Manager ensures that business and IT goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within the agreed schedule and budget. He/She works closely with Information Technology (IT) management team and at times is responsible for managing the team of Subject Manager Experts and Suppliers assigned to the project(s The Project Manager monitors project activities; ensures the currency, quality, and integrity of the information; and, provides consistency in content look and feel across the organization. The individual will be responsible to ensure that project results meet customer expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies. Project Manager needs to follow the Volkswagen Group Information Technology Project Delivery Process and ensure delivery gates are completed on time.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Planning and Defining the Scope:
Lead concurrent high priority projects
Define and clarify project scope
Develop detailed business requirements
Develop project plan and schedule
Manage costs and quality
Determine what needs to be done and who will do it
Obtain agreement from project stakeholders
Establish a communication plan
Follow approval process

A detail business requirements and translation to IT solutions is critical to this role

Organizing and Scoping the Project:
Set-up work breakdown structure and project team structure
Define project baselines
Develop project resource strategies including budget, staff, and tools
Identify roles and responsibilities for internal and external resources
Set team direction
Ensure that application systems are developed in a way that complies with architectural standards

Leading the Project:
Carry-out the project plan
Coordinate activities across functional areas
Assign activities and tasks to project team
Manage the project team located on-site, remote, domestic and overseas
Provide effective feedback to project team
Fosters and maintains positive rapport and good relationships with IT management team
Coordinate IT activities (system analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance)
Develop and implement a training plan
Analyze business events, data and IT architecture
Evaluate possible solutions

Keeping the Project on Track:
Measure project progress towards business and IT objectives
Manage costs and quality of deliverables
Anticipates and identifies issues inhibiting the attainment of project goals
Evaluate project deviations
Identify risks and work on the escalation process
Develop and implement mitigation plans and corrective actions
Develop and implement change controls
Develop and communicate status reports

A Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
MS Project (scheduling and tracking – resource effort level) and MS Office tools
Minimum of five (5) years of project management
Demonstrate leadership skills and a track record of managing technical staff and financial resources through various life-cycle phases (cross-functional experience highly desirable)
Experience in effective project implementation and deployment
Working knowledge with the application of formal methodologies, for implementation of Information Systems and associated Business Transformation and Change Management
