Title: Project Manager

Location: Columbia, SC

Duration: 12+ Months

Scope Of The Project:

Under limited supervision, the Project Manager will work with the Immunization Program, Project Management Office, Software Vendor, and IT staff to coordinate and oversee all project management activities related to the implementation of a new Immunization Information System (registry) in order to meet the CDC Functional Standards.
Job Functions:
1. Responsible for management of the Immunization Information System implementation project, including but not limited to the development of a project management plan, Work Breakdown Structure, and evaluation metrics.
2. Review and determine the impact of all change requests and follow the change control process for review and approval.
3. Develop scope control and validation measures and communicate any changes to scope to all project participants.
4. Ensure that all project documentation is updated based on any changes made.
5. Utilize processes, templates, etc. approved by the project management office.
6. Develop and maintain a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
7. Communicates progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and other key project metrics to team members, and management staff. Where project control is in jeopardy, creates contingency plans with appropriate input from key team members and implement a revised project schedule, scope in a timely manner.
8. Other general project management duties as assigned.
9. The selected candidate should be able to work flexible hours where it may be necessary for work to be completed outside traditional business hours.
10. The candidate will work closely with the Immunization Program, Project Management Office, Software Vendor and Bureau of Information Technology to identify, prioritize, and schedule workload and implementation. The position will work with program area team members to ensure that all business and contractual requirements are met to support the Immunization Information System Implementation project.
11. Candidates must be self-motivated, team-oriented, work under limited supervision, and respond to priority tasks as needed.

Required Certifications:
PMI Certification = PMP(Preferred) or CAPM

Additional Skills

1. EXPERIENCE MANAGING AN IMMUNIZATION INFORMATION SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT.
2. EXPERIENCE MANAGING A PUBLIC SECTOR/GOVERNMENT IT PROJECT WITH EXTERNAL USERS.
3. ABILITY TO ESTABLISH POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH TECHNICAL STAFF, CUSTOMERS AND OTHERS INVOLVED IN DATA-CENTRIC MANAGEMENT.
4. ABILITY TO INTEGRATE TECHNICAL SYSTEMS WITH AGENCY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES.
