Project Manager ( Banking + PMP)

Location: San Jose CA

Duration: 6 months+ CTH

*small team with good work/life balance
*will work on multiple projects large and small (replace wire systems,
digital projects, online banking)
*must have solid verbal and written comm skills

The Project Manager will manage cross functional projects by working
directly with internal stakeholders and third party vendors to ensure
deliverables fall within the applicable scope, on time and within budget.
The incumbent will develop project schedules, resolve project issues and
engage in contract negotiation. He or she will coordinate with other
departments such as Information Technology, Marketing, Legal team, Retail
Banking and the Contact Center to ensure all aspects of each project has
been well-planned.

Essential Duties:-

Manages projects based on assignment from the Project
Management Office (PMO
Creates documentation throughout all steps of the
project life-cycle such as project charters, work breakdown structures,
roles & responsibilities, procurement management plan, cost baseline,
schedule baseline & critical path, risk assessments & mitigation plans.
Conducts stakeholder engagement assessments and
manages stakeholder expectations in order to ensure all expectations are
established and successfully met throughout the project.
Manages the Request for Proposal (RFP) process from
beginning to end, including the scope definition, vendor screening,
developing of RFP document, source selection criteria, contract
negotiations and execution of contractual agreements.
Creates and successfully manages cross-functional
teams throughout the organization.
Works closely with Information Technology staff to
manage the development of a technical solution design, enterprise
architecture and technical specifications.
Conducts regular presentations with the Executive
Sponsors and project teams regarding progress.
Completes special projects upon request.
Documentation and Communication
Develops the documentation required for the PMO such
as documentation required for compliance.
Provides regular status reports for management on the
performance of the projects.
Initiates regular communication with all stakeholders
and the Managing Committee.
Education: B.S. Degree in Business, Project Management, MIS, Computer
Science, or related area. A Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certification is preferred.

Experience:

4+ years project management experience to include at
a minimum: project planning and initiation, project scope change control,
issues management, status reporting, problem solving, and post- project
assessment.
Familiar with change management methodologies such as
ADKAR (awareness, desire, knowledge, ability, reinforcement) and BLTM
(Bridges Leading Transition Model) to create omprehensive project
communication plan.
Familiar with process improvement methodologies such
as six sigma, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and
value stream mapping to facilitate project team analyzes of business
processes and recommended solutions. This includes conducting process
mapping sessions and creating process flows.
Experience and familiarity working with IT
organizations and managing resources.
Prior experience with managing projects for financial
institutions is preferred.
Prior contract negotiations experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to align project objectives to the
companies strategic objectives as set forth by executive management.
Familiarity with financial institution software
solutions, business processes and requirements.
Demonstrated organizational and planning
capabilities, and ability to handle multiple projects, tasks and priorities
in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated record of establishing priorities and
meeting deadlines.
Formal facilitation training is preferred.
Effective written and oral communication skills,
presentation skills, and facilitation skills including the ability to deal
with all levels of internal associates, external vendors and business
partners.
Self-motivated, creative and committed to the work at
hand.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office standard office
applications and familiarity with Microsoft Project and Visio.
