JOB Description
Responsibilities:
The client’s ITS division requires the services of one experienced Project Manager resource preferably with Oil and Gas systems knowledge/experience hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of a Project Manager 2 in legacy technology.
The Worker will apply their expert knowledge of business analysis in the agency’s IT and business areas to support the needs of internal ITS development project teams.
· Manage Mainframe Transition Tasks/Projects.
· Determine a generic project plan for transitioning an application from mainframe to a new platform.
· Manage Data Modeling project in concert with data modeling vendor's PM.
· Develop project plans from the generic plan specific to each application as an application is queued to be transitioned and manage each application's transition.
· Attend weekly status meetings to keep management and co-workers informed as to the status of assignments.
· Coordinate communications and meetings concerning transition projects between stakeholders.
· Work with stakeholders to develop accurate time lines and budgets.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
8 Years - Experience as a PM in an IT environment.
8 Years - Knowledgeable in requirements gathering and documentation
4 Years - Experience managing multiple large IT projects simultaneously.
2 Years - Experience specific to moving large IT applications off a mainframe to a new platform.
Preferences:
PMI certification preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarization with Data Modeling.
Experience working in a large Texas state agency.
Ability to speak with authority the dual languages of business and technology, and to demonstrate a strong technical aptitude
