JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading Agile project teams that will successfully deliver exceptional business value to our FlightOps partner as part of the Airbus A350 XWB eOperations IT Program. As a PM in the Digital Aircraft Technology group this person will be charged with organizing and motivating the project team in addition to planning, budgeting and risk mitigation for the project. This person will be responsible for multiple initiatives, primarily the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) project. This requires attention to detail in a fast-paced environment that will cross TechOps and FlightOps business divisions. This person will be expected to demonstrate good judgment based on experience in blending traditional project management practices with an Agile development approach in the right proportions to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects. The appropriate level of planning combined with the right balance of flexibility and predictability during implementation will be key to success.
This person will define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management; promote empowerment of the team; ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution; and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. or B.S. degree required, technical preferred
Excellent oral and written communications skills required
A commitment to bring your best effort every day required
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio required
Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration, problem solving, diplomacy, etiquette and team building required
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands required
Experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level highly desired
Commercial aviation experience highly desired
Flight Deck ConOps highly desired
Mobile device management desired
PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
SCRUM/Agile experience at the enterprise application development level desired
Some travel required
