Job Duties
This position will be responsible for providing necessary planning, coordination and oversight of a gap analysis and assessment involving partners from multiple organizations. The position will coordinate a team of epidemiologists comparing hospital data reported to two different public health systems: Syndromic Surveillance and Hospital Discharge Data. In addition, the Project Manager will work with external partners, including electronic health record vendors, to complete a gap analysis and feasibility assessment of capturing and reporting hospital discharge data in a new method using HL7. The Project Manager will be responsible for creating a project plan, ensuring project timelines are met, assisting with contracts, and reporting on grant deliverables. The final product will be a written report containing similarities and differences between the data and workflows of the two systems, lessons learned, recommendations and next steps.

Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience with electronic health record systems and processes
3-5 years of project management experience
Experience in public health informatics or medical informatics in a hospital environment
Knowledge of the structure of HL7, especially version 2 ADT
Knowledge of software development life cycle
Expertise in change management
Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to exchange ideas with technical and clinical or epidemiological stakeholders
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
Ability to work independently and on a team
Ability to partner and lead small multidisciplinary teams to deliver project objectives
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including a creative and self-motivated mindset
Knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, Word, and Access)
PMP Certification
An understanding of public health reporting and surveillance
Knowledge of standard coding for health information exchange, such as ICD-10-CM
Knowledge of uniform billing and associated software
Knowledge of secure file transmission standards
