Mandatory Skills: Expertise in Progress/OpenEdge database design & administration of databases
Expertise in Progress/OpenEdge installation/migration(homogeneous/heterogeneous )/recovery.
Expertise in QAD installations (eB2, eB2. 1, QAD SE)
Expertise in Progress/OpenEdge database performance tuning
Expertise in Linux/UNIX shell scripting
Expertise in Disaster recovery setup/implementation/review
Installation/setup/troubleshooting web based applications (QAD Desktop, . NET UI)
Installation/setup/troubleshooting of Appserver, Webspeed
Set up of Apache Tomcat webserver and troubleshooting
Setup/Troubleshooting Fathom/OpenEdge Replication
Desired Skills
Good experience in handling QAD Admin functions
Source code control setup and administration (MKS, custom applications)
should have worked in RDBMS: Progress 9. 1C, 9. 1D, 9. 1E, OpenEdge 10. xx, 11. x
should have worked in ERP: QAD MFG/PRO eB, eB2, eB2. 1, QAD SE, QAD EE

Job Description:
The Database Administrator is responsible for keeping the clients database environment available, secure and stable.
They must constantly test the data that is coming from the database to ensure it is not corrupt.
The Database Administrator is responsible for integrating new products, software products and packages, updates into the system and seeing that the data produced is accurate.
The Administrator may at times need to train other employees in the organization on how to access a database and how to best make use of its contents.
The Database Administrator also collaborates with the Development and Application Managers with development, installation and problem resolution with system backups, recovery procedures and projects and Need to be responsible for Onsite DBA and co-ordinate with Offshore DBA on leadership front.
Will be responsible for maintaining , upgrading , the Progress DBA
