Job Description:

Upgrade the ORPTS web application stack, changing to supported hardware and software while maintaining full functionality of existing applications and responding to business needs

Day to day tasks:

The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a multi-tiered web application system supporting multiple levels of government. The responsibilities will include daily maintenance tasks, new development, testing, migration, and overseeing a planned software and hardware migration. Specific tasks will include:

Act as technical lead for planned software and hardware migrations

Technical design for new development and system enhancements.

Requirements gathering and analysis

Development and maintenance of technical design documents and program specifications as well as other project documentation

Maintain and support existing applications, including analysis of issues, proposing and implementing solutions

Coding, unit and integration testing of programming assignments

Writing and tuning SQL

Coordinating with multiple teams which administer related products: DB2 and Sybase database, AIX, LINUX, and Solaris operating systems, ColdFusion Server, NYSDS, WebSphere Application Server, etc.

Lead analysis and requirements gathering with business units and subject matter experts

Mentoring of less experienced staff would be required

Mandatory Qualification:

Programmer

- Analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team- Maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work- Write application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions

84+ Months: Candidate is able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field

Requested Qualifications:

1. At least 84 months demonstrated experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP, and XML

2. At least 84 months demonstrated experience with Java programming in an IBM development environment using IDE of IBM’s Rational Application Developer, (RAD) that are deployed to WebSphere Application Server (WAS)

3. At least 84 months of IBM DB2 experience working with large DB2 databases which includes experience with XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation)

4. At least 60 months experience with a large organization, which includes technical design, development, maintenance and end user support of complex web systems.

5. At least 12 months demonstrated experience programming multi-tier ColdFusion web applications, using Dreamweaver or CF Builder IDE, deployed in a CF9 or greater UNIX environment with Sybase
