Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

Oversees and directly manages a team comprised of:
Mainframe professionals responsible for the successful and
timely processing of Mainframe jobs, reports and processes;
Help desk agents responsible for providing top-level customer
support for internal and external users spread across the country; and
Associates responsible for systems release and configuration
management activities.
Establishes, updates and maintains technical documentation and
standard operating procedures
Coaches associates to achieve their best performance, conducts
quarterly performance reviews and recommends performance ratings for the
annual performance ratings
Reviews associates timesheets for accuracy and approves timesheets
in accordance with company and contract requirements
Builds effective and productive relationships with other managers
in IT, PMO and Business Operations
Position Requirements:
Bachelor s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or
Engineering
Minimum of three (3) years experience successfully managing,
motivating, and coaching a team of technical associates (direct reports)
Customer-service oriented with a problem-solving attitude and
ability to work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build
consensus and agreement and bring resolution to contentious issues and
entrenched interests
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities with the
ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience
Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Extensive Microsoft office experience using Word, Excel, VISIO,
Power Point and SharePoint
Ability to manage multiple high priority initiatives in a fast
paced highly technical environment
Exposure to modern release management tools (such as JIRA, Rally, etc
Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a government
public trust clearance
Nice to Have:
Experience working in Federal Government projects
Previous experience managing configuration and release management
resources
Previous experience managing help desk resources
Previous experience managing/operating mainframe jobs
Experience working within an agile framework (SCRUM and Kanban)
ITIL Certification
Working knowledge of JCL, CA-7, TSO, FTP, monitoring tools, CICS,
mainframe hardware (IPLs)
