Position: Product Manager
Work Location : RTP, NC or San Jose, CA
Looking for a person that really understands Open Source Software Development, some (but not required) Cloud, and is actually a person that writes code. In particular, the code they write should be very similar to Python, Java to start.
· Own and define the roadmap for project / product
· Understand and clearly define user problems. Work with engineering and design to deliver great solutions in an iterative fashion.
· Develop and refine user personas
· Use data-driven methodology to prioritize roadmap themes.
· Present product features and technical direction to internal stakeholders.
· Write technical content for end users, including blog posts.
· Manage interactions with end users through issue trackers and other communication modalities.
· Work with Product Marketing to create relevant collateral and messaging.
· Tap into the pulse of the open source, data science, and developer communities.
· Be the interface between disparate stakeholders and roles: engineers; community contributors; end users who are data scientists, software developers, sysadmins, and devops engineers.
Required Qualifications:
2. Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills
3. Proven hands-on experience in cloud agile development tools and practices, notably continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies
4. 5+ Years in Product Management
5. Prior experience with Open Source software technologies, typically delivering Open Source products into the market.
Desired Qualifications:
2. Demonstrated track record of disciplined execution, acting independently across competing priorities and exercising judgment
3. Legal or Intellectual Property experience
4. Technical background with software development, architectural, database and cloud based technologies
5. Experience with Commercial embedded software, Open Source standards, OEM/ODM/Firmware
Responsibilities:
· Drives vision, strategy, roadmap and product lifecycle for product initiative and its portfolio of products & solutions.
· Define clear business problems and prioritize solutions using data-driven analytics, developing success metrics to measure project performance and alignment with team mission and goals
· Able to re-appropriate existing solutions to new requirements and situations
· Emotional Intelligence, ability to influence up and out
· Represent and advocate for Open Source Operations experiences, users, and rights holders, to ensure they are incorporated in new product launches across different channels and support all locales
· Develop and deliver measurement and reporting to quantify the impact of all launches, and monitor and analyze product and operational health metrics
· Conduct design reviews to product requirements for approval
