Job Title: Principal Linux System Administrator (692) (Only US Citizen)
Location: Burlington MA 02421- Must be willing to work on-site
Duration: 6 Months – Contract to perm role
Note: This Position Requires An Active Secret Clearance
Summary:
· CSS Staffing is seeking an expert Linux systems administrator to support classified and unclassified computing environments.
· Experience Designing, implementing and managing Linux infrastructure (e.g. authentication, fileshare, collaboration servers) to meet the customer requirements.
· Lead investigation of system and/or software failures or performance problems and their resolutions.
· Supervise and monitor routine maintenance tasks and systems administrative activities to ensure reliable and effective operation of the infrastructure systems.
· Extensive experience in supporting a large subset of the following: - Standard Unix/Linux network management tools: NIS, DNS, NFS, automounter - Authentication management: PAM, Red Hat Identity Management - Windows/Linux cross-platform authentication services: LDAP, Winbind/Active Directory - TCP/IP networking configuration and troubleshooting in Linux systems - Linux/Unix network security: SELinux, Linux firewalls, tcpwrapper - System performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools - Centralized administration tools: e.g. Puppet - Automated system build tools: Kickstart, Cobbler, Jumpstart - Network file services: NFS, Samba - Virtual Machine technologies: VMware ESXi/vSphere, Red Hat KVM - System hardening standards and their implementations on Linux systems: NISPOM, JAFAN, FISMA, DISA STIGs - Linux patch administration in isolated networks - Enterprise storage administration: e.g. NetApp - Backup systems: CommVault, NetBackup, Backup Exec, Veeam - Unix shell programming: sh, perl - Software development tools support: Subversion, Git, ClearCase - Network license administration: e.g. FlexLM - Web servers: Apache http, tomcat.
· Respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.
· CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) and Red Hat RHCSA certifications may be required to work in some of the customer labs, and preference will be given to candidates who hold these certifications.
Required Skills & Experience:
· BS with 10 years of experience or MS with 8 years of experience in Computer Science or related field
· 8+ years of experience in administering Linux operating system environments (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS
· 4+ years of experience in administering Linux infrastructure systems in an Enterprise environment.
· TCP/IP networking fundamentals
· NIS, DNS, NFS, auto mounter
· Automated system build tools: Kickstart
· Proficiency in Unix shell scripting
· Active Secret Clearance prefer TS/SCI.
