Our client’s solutions are focused on making day-to-day life smarter and more productive and industry more innovative and responsive. They are looking for a Principal Architect for IOT Solutions, a candidate who possesses a unique combination of technical leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving to help us design, develop, and implement IOT platforms, applications, and devices that accomplish these goals.
This is an incredible opportunity to build a large scale, next-generation solutions specific to Smart Homes, Industrial IOT, and Smart Cities. The position is based at client’s operational Center of Excellence in Dallas.
Key Responsibilities include
· Comprehensive IoT strategy, IOT platform design and development, launch of connected products and solutions in the areas of Smart Homes, Smart Cities, and various industrial applications
· Ownership of the IOT architecture, from device through connectivity, data collection and analysis, cloud, APIs, and supporting platforms
· Develop and maintain relationships within the IOT community (device, application, platform) to ensure the client is part of emerging technology development and innovation
· Provide leadership and technical guidance for the development and expansion of the client’s IOT platform and customer portal
· Ensure integration of IOT platform, applications, and solutions into the overall client app and service portfolio, collaborating with different engineering, systems, operations, and product teams
· Define technological requirements and procedures for capacity planning and tuning for performance, scalability, and operations of IoT platform and architecture
· Other duties as required
Qualifications and Requirements
· BS or MS is Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering
· 4+ years working on IOT products, platforms, or systems with thorough understanding of hardware, firmware, and software development processes
· 10+ years industry experience spanning telecom, sensor, cloud, or SaaS companies
· Experience developing solutions for smart cities, smart home, telematics, M2M or similar areas
· Proficiency in leading IOT/M2M platforms and protocols, modern programming languages, multiple cloud platforms, and analytics platforms
· Working knowledge of open source data processing technologies
This is a 6+ months contract to hire position.
