Principal Architect / Distinguished Engineer, IMS

The Principal Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical solutions for the end-to-end voice, video messaging and IMS services for Customer. This includes architecting and designing the right solutions so that the highest level of service and performance are maintained across the Customer wireless infrastructure. Positions are based at Customer''s Center of Excellence in Dallas, working in close conjunction with technical and business resources at our corporate offices in India.

Customer has built the largest IP internet infrastructure with over 125,000 routers interconnecting all of India to the rest of the world. Customer has already installed more microcells and small cells than any other operator globally. With over 100,000 base stations / eNode Bs, the wireless infrastructure covers all of India without any circuit-switched infrastructure embedded in the Customer network platform. Customer operates India''s largest cloud-based data centers leveraging open-source technology and architecture delivering hybrid, public and private cloud services. Customer delivers a portfolio of digital services across consumer and various industry verticals, including @Home services, cloud, and mobile offers.

Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Principal Engineer include but are not limited to:

" End-to-end solutions design for the integrated voice, video messaging (VVM) services
" Ensure service SLAs conform to business requirements and meet customer expectations
" Establishing the core service and performance metrics for operations
" Ensure IMS core performance and service metrics for VVM services in a low latency, high availability design criteria
" Defining and operationalizing the tools required for service availability, traffic engineering, and root cause analysis within a converged IMS and integrated wireless infrastructure
" Designing and evolving continuous automation to enhance operational efficiency and service effectiveness
" Collaborate with technology partners and OEMs to create best-in-class products and solutions
" Parameter optimization and fine tuning to improve overall EPC performance and standardizing baseline parameters
" Network performance audit and recommendations
" Recommendations on tools related to IMS performance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
" Manage integrity of the network configuration and parameters

Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

" Thorough understanding of Wireless Network Architecture, Technologies and concepts as well as applicable LTE/VoLTE/VoWiFi industry standards, e.g. 3GPP and GSMA
" Knowledge and Expertise in IMS Vendor solutions, current features and driving future requirements in line with standards bodies.
" Good understanding and Experience working with standards bodies such as 3GPP and contributing to requirements based on current and future business needs.
" Experience Designing, dimensioning and managing Physical Appliance based as well as Virtual IMS solutions and vendors.
" Expert knowledge of operational issues in a large scale EPC, VVM, VoWiFi network and its subsystems in a Tier-I operator network
" Solid understanding of IMS core and services and various service components: HSS, AAA, PGW, GGSN, SGW, HSGW, MME, ePDG, CSCF, PCRF, TAS as well as 2G/3G network components such as MSC, MGW, SGSN and GGSN for CSFB and SR-VCC features
" Experience in test planning and test execution: acceptance, integration, functional, service, inter-op testing and performance
" Must have team leadership capability and work well with others
" Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
" Ability to supervise and lead a team of SMEs and handle multiple tasks/schedules simultaneously
