Job Description :
The Midrange and Enterprise Shared Services Manager is responsible for effectively managing the platform and midrange enterprise services. The individual will anticipate and solve problems at an enterprise level for Midrange Services. The individual in this position must remain continuously aware of business, technical, architecture, and infrastructure issues and aid in the development of creative solutions, including the outsourcing of those solutions. This individual may be called upon to provide any level of project management for single or multiple projects. This individual will also be responsible for managing Enterprise Shared Services (ESS These services include Virtualization platform, Cloud etc. These services are offered at the enterprise level and are usually in high demand. The candidate must have the ability to determine enterprise priority and adjust delivery schedules for these services when scheduling conflicts occur.

Define procedures in the wide range of technologies:
Server platform, Operating Systems, Virtualization platform etc.
Conceive solutions, build consensus, and sell / execute solutions.
Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness.
Proactively identify troublesome trends as they develop; analyze / predict trends and develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service levels for the user community.
Ensure a stable production environment enterprise wide and review high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid future occurrences.
Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve / upgrade the infrastructure, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective.

Continuously strive to improve client support:
Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in IT initiatives to address service issues.
Keep abreast of technical aspects of computing environments.
Have a working knowledge of department-specific applications.
Attend seminars and other educational opportunities.

Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and exposure to multiple technical disciplines including:
Unix, Linux and Windows.
High-Availability, Redundancy, Clustering, Disaster Recovery, Load Balancing.
Hardware platforms and Networking.
Experience in evaluating and explaining complex problems or situations and make sound decisions in granting SLA relief or a course of action when needed for midrange services.
Project planning and management skills; ability to identify and assess risk to determine action; budgeting; procurement; financial analysis.
Comfortable with making project decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
Ability to anticipate and monitor capacity for shared services and plan accordingly to meet demand.
Ability to identify group conflict and facilitate resolution.
Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large projects in a cross-functional environment.
Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.
Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
Good understanding of the enterprise business and business processes; knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies / relationships.
Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems; strong customer service and communications skills.
Good judgment and analytical skills; strong follow-up and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct and prepare feasibility studies; develop outsourcing proposals and SLAs, including estimates for costs, time, and resources; prepare statistical reports; complete cost/benefit analyses; and conduct business.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
Must have five plus years of direct people reporting responsibilities.
Six to eight years of related experience in environments designing, planning, and implementing solutions using the latest technology.
Three or more years working with outside vendors, negotiating services and monitoring the delivery of those services.
Five or more years of management experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects.
Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
Gained experience in managing resources to meet goals across multiple projects.
Gained experience in leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams / groups.
Demonstrated competency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
