Lead Performance Engineer
Location: Pittsburg, PA
Duration: 3-4 months with potential extension.

Client needs a Performance Engineering Lead to resource to assess current tests for the client’s website site and apply it to their new platform. This resource would assist the team in translating the current tests and helping to build a solid set of requirements and workflows to test the new site to the same standards as existing. Position is onsite in Pittsburg, PA for 3 - 4 months. Job description is below:

DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Performance Engineering Lead will work closely with Development, DevOps, Quality Engineering, and Business teams to ensure AEO’s site and applications are available to take orders all day, every day. This position requires a mix of analytics,
development, systems engineering skills, as well as strong base of performance testing methodologies and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and lead Performance Engineering resources as well as plan for needs from stakeholders in development, infrastructure,
and release teams
Create and refine effective performance test objectives, test plans, and scenarios that support client’s performance across all
applications
Determine environment and release health and thorough performance testing and analysis to ensure uptime of site under normal
and peak traffic
Utilize monitoring tools to detect, isolate and resolve performance issues and implement new monitoring checks and tools as
needed
Communicate performance results to organizational stakeholders for day to day operations as well as performance trends over time
Coordinate and facilitate reviews and root cause analysis of performance challenges with development, application, and
infrastructure teams
Analyze performance results and trends to identify issues and suggest optimizations in code, process, or infrastructure
Maintain testing servers and hosts both on-site and cloud-based
Understand application topology and how code changes and new applications impact the user experience as well as site
performance
Conduct quality coding processes of test scripts and models, including peer reviews
Partner with business teams and development teams to define performance thresholds, performance benchmarks, and SLAs

QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of relevant application development/performance experience
E-commerce experience preferred
Strong analytical, prioritizing, planning, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
Programming experience required (C, shell scripting, java)
Knowledge of load-testing methodology and tools
Knowledge of eCommerce components and architecture
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol (routing, firewalling, networking)
Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g. Cacti, Nagios, Splunk, Tealeaf, RUM, BPM, APM)
