Role: Performance Engineer (Only GC/GC-EAD/OPT/Citizens)

Mandatory Skills:
Role Responsibilities
o Advise development teams on how to build super-fast, scalable and reliable software
o Customized Performance testing platform development
o Proactively identify ways to improve system performance via code, configuration, tuning and architectural changes
o Identify ways to improve system reliability through proactive analysis and learning from production environments
o Perform evaluations in the realms of new technologies, hardware, infrastructure, virtualisation and cloud computing
o Promote and instil performance and reliability matters throughout the technology group
o Investigate production incidents and determine root causes, driving remedial actions where appropriate
o Assist in establishing CI-based automated performance testing within development teams
o Participate in scalability analysis and capacity planning activities
Essential Competencies
o Java-based profiling and performance engineering in a Web application context
o JVM monitoring and tuning
o Knowledge of client-side performance factors and key metrics
o Designing performance testing scenarios using an industry standard toolset
o Web server configuration and tuning (e.g. Apache)
o Service container (e.g. Tomcat, Netty) configuration and tuning
o Linux performance monitoring
o Layer 4-7 network services and devices
o Agile software development methodologies
