PMO Analyst, Hyattsville, MD

Description of specific Duties in a typical workday for this position:

Manage the program’s Integrated Master Schedule to keep on track all tasks related to Program changes, publications and updates to the Flood Insurance Manual, National Flood Insurance Conference, and Actuarial Information System

Identify, Analyze, Prioritize, Track, Report, and Control Risks and Issues by maintaining the Risk and Issue
Register, meetings, and collaborating with the project areas

Maintain the Balanced Scorecard reporting system by collaborating with the program areas in addition to guiding
the Balanced Scorecard process for the Program.

Track and report on the activities for the Program QASP and CPAR

Meet with stakeholders frequently to ensure all targets are being met
Track and report on the Program’s document library

Ability to understand requirements and request clarification as necessary

Preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and yearly reports

Participate in agile activities with the team as required

Other Duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Ability to pass a public trust clearance

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management. NFIP or Project Management
experience can be substituted for educational requirement.

Proven PMO/Project Analyst or Coordinator experience and knowledge of project management

Supporting task areas that include project, program, and portfolio-level business process analysis, mapping,
improvements, reporting, internal outreach and communications, organizational change management, and training
development and delivery

Experience in project/program Risk and Issue management

Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain and update the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support a PMO

Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills


Strong strategic thinking skills, organizational/planning skills, project management skills

The ability to analyze/solve problems and identify opportunities

Develop positive relationships with Project Sponsors and teams to enable the PMO to provide support including
facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects, and training

Act as a reference point for PMO queries and information and an advocate for best practices in project
management

Facilitate cross-functional project teams to create current state and future state business process models

Work with business process owners to analyze and recommend improvements to business processes

US Citizenship


Nice to Have:

3 years related experience in IT project support or project management

Knowledge of full system development life cycle and project management methodology skills

Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills

Strong knowledge of business applications, specifically MS Project, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS
Excel, MS SharePoint, and MS PowerBi

Position requires individual that has desire to learn, is independent, has high energy/enthusiasm and good
interpersonal skills/teamwork

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification highly
desired

Working knowledge of project management concepts, practices, and procedures

Strong facilitation skills

Experience with Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies

Experience with change control and management
