Job Title: Telephone System(PBX) Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA 23219
Duration: 12 months contract
Responsibilities
This is an experienced level PBX Engineer position providing detailed engineering support for client’s existing and proposed telephone infrastructure. Tasks will include but are not limited to:
Completing system analysis on existing PBXs and/or voice mail systems.
Creating technical specifications for Request for Proposal (RFP
Evaluating Supplier responses leading to the recommendation to procure Avaya Communications Manager IP-PBXs and/or Avaya Aura Messaging voice mail systems.
Coordinating and assisting with system installations and upgrades. Work will be completed with the oversight of the group lead or other assigned group members.
Advanced trouble shooting support
Candidate must have:
Detailed knowledge of telephone/voice engineering concepts, fundamentals, and theory for voice networks and call routing schemes, Telecommunications site build-out (including installation of PBXs, IP-PBXs, voice mail systems, station cabling, QoS, POE, etc
Specific knowledge of Avaya G450/S8300 CM, CMM, and AAM are preferred.
Experience with Nortel CS1000.
Experience with Mitel.
Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing
Effective computer skills including detailed knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Products Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, and Power Point.
Candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices; ability to work within a team environment.
