Job Description:
Maintenance, enhancements, and end user support for NYSIF’s Worker’s Compensation systems.
The duties of the consulting resource would be to plan, create, modify, test and implement code in support of any of the following:
- Creation and maintenance of Worker’s Compensation claims in adherence with Workers Compensation Law and current WCB regulations.
- The speedy, thorough investigation and evaluation of claims to determine liability and compensability in accordance with Workers’ Compensation Law and prevailing court decisions.
- Providing all claim maintenance transactions, consistent with NYSIF requirements
- Producing information, correspondence, and claim forms for all NYSIF district office locations throughout the state
- Producing required reporting to the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI)
- Producing required reporting to the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board in accordance with IAIABC specifications.
- Receiving and applying Worker’s Comp. Law revisions and modifications as directed by the WCB
- Supporting the calculation and applying of Reserves based on reasonable projection of future indemnity and medical costs consistent with NYSIF requirements
- Initiating claim related transactions and producing statutory notices
- Programming to assure ease of use by NYSIF Claim Administration staff of claim management software on NYSIF laptops
- Programming to assure ease of use by NYSIF loss control staff of scheduling, recommendations, follow-ups and communications software on NYSIF computer laptops
- Interfacing with the various claims systems to integrate specific claim information
- Feeding all necessary data to the data warehouse/business intelligence system
The consultant will adhere to NYSIF’s application development standards, including, but not limited to, project management methodology, SDLC (software development life cycle), Enterprise Architecture standards and the IT governance process.
Candidates should have at least 84 months experience and a majority of the following should apply:

1. At least 48 months experience with Worker’s Compensation Insurance, which includes the maintenance and end user support to produce, maintain and pay indemnity payments #of months 20
2. At least 60 months experience in Oracle development, PL/SQL development including Triggers, Packages, Advanced Queuing #of months 16
3. At least 12 months experience in IAIABC Standards with Workers’ compensation insurance #of months 10
4. At least 48 months experience in using Microsoft Team Foundation Server in a Microsoft Windows environment, including experience in check-in/check-out. #of months 10
5. At least 36 months experience in C# #of months 8
6. At least 36 months experience in XML development #of months 5
7. At least 36 months experience in XSLT development #of months 5
8. At least 24 months experience with Innotas project portfolio management #of months 3
9. At least 24 months experience with HP Quality Center #of months 3
