Job Description:
This 24 month position for an Oracle Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer resource is needed for the OCFS Data Warehouse/CONNECTIONS Reporting Module. The DW is sourced from the agency’s major child welfare case management related systems: CONNECTIONS, CCRS, and WMS.
The OCFS Data Warehouse supports various mandated Child Welfare federal reporting including: Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFACRS); Child Care; National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS); National Youth in Transition Data (NYTD); National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA) and Casework Contacts.
A significant component of the data warehouse environment is the CONNECTIONS Operational Data Store (ODS) which enables the sharing of CONNECTIONS data with local districts and voluntary agencies.
The OCFS Data Warehouse is a long term, ongoing effort to meet the data sharing and reporting needs of OCFS, the state and federal government, local districts and voluntary agencies.
The first deliverables were deployed in 2000, and the warehouse continues to grow in terms of data volume, functionality, and customers on a continual basis, with heightening reliance on the availability of up to date child welfare data for operational and analytical needs. The DW effort consists of many sub-projects, each with its own schedule and deliverables. There are approximately 10 sub-projects in progress at any given time, with another 50 or so in the queue.
This 24 month position is for an Oracle Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer and is required to design/model, construct, load, and validate the data tables through the enterprise Data Warehouse architecture in support of the OCFS Data Warehouse projects.
In addition, this resource will share responsibilities for managing the OCFS Data Warehouse daily processing operations and job schedules, load issue resolutions, load inquiries, 2nd level testing of issues and code fixes, infrastructure upgrades and enhancements (Oracle upgrades
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Perform Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) administration related tasks
2. Perform Fusion Middleware upgrades
3. Migrate OWB projects to ODI 12c
4. Perform complex PL/SQL coding in a Data Warehouse environment with an Oracle Database
5. Perform unit testing and correct all identified bugs.
6. Work in coordination with a team of developers to expand the current Data Warehouse.
7. Work with Business Analyst & customers on analysis and logical design for mappings and ETL.
8. The individual in this position will work under the direction of a Project Manager

SKILL MATRIX:

1. 84 months experience in a data warehouse setting as a developer utilizing an enterprise data warehouse with dependent data marts. #of months
2. 84 months experience in SDLC including requirement gathering, development, testing, debugging, deployment, documentation and production support #of months
3. 60 months experience developing and testing maps, performing source-to-target mappings, storage capacity planning and developing PL/SQL in Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) including migrating OWB projects to ODI 12c. #of months
4. 60 months Data modeling (Dimensional & Relational),
process improvement, normalization/de-normalization, data extraction, data cleansing, data manipulation. #of months
5. 60 months experience in an Oracle Data Warehouse as a developer performing development work using PL/SQL #of months
6. 60 months experience in converting business requirements into workable functional and non-functional requirements at detailed production level using Workflow Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, Activity Diagrams and Use Case Modeling. #of months
7. 60 months experience in problem solving on technical issues. #of months
8. Bachelor’s Degree. #of months
