Notes:
* His team has 6-7 applications in their portfolio and they just need
some additional help for the team- it''s not necessarily for a specific
project
* They will be migrating from a Vendor''s DC to AGCO DC and so this
person will help with monitoring packages and tuning if necessary
* Most of the work will just be managing existing applications,
handling change requests, building stored procedures
* Rate is a big factor to him- he wants someone good but also doesn''t
want to max it out. Ex. He gave is "How long does it take you to create
stored procedures?" - someone that can create them in 1 hr he will expect to
pay more for opposed to someone who takes 4 hrs.
* Local candidate that needs to be onsite M-F
* Interview Process: phone screen with Madan, his DBA will do
technical aspect (either on phone or if they decide to bring in for f2f
F2F will be the week after Thanksgiving. He''s hoping to do phone screens
next week
* 11G Oracle experience
* Looking for someone that is efficient and proactive and won''t be
sitting around waiting for people/assignments to work on
Job Description, Required Skills, Education, Experience:
* Evaluate, design, code, optimize, and modify Oracle databases and
database applications.
* Model databases and develop tables, stored procedures, views,
triggers, and other database objects.
* Tune databases for optimum performance.
* Work closely with other developers to integrate databases with other
applications.
* May involve interface development to access database.
* May involve a limited amount of database administration.
* Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.
* Conducts complex work important to the organization.
* Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent
judgment.
* Typically requires six to nine years of relevant experience or
equivalent combination of experience and education.
Minimum Requirements:
* 5-10 years of experience as Lead/Senior Database/Application
Developer with strong database background.
* Excellent SQL tuning skills and advanced application programming
techniques.
* Excellent skills with SQL Loader, Stored Procedures, packages &
shell scripts in Oracle.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, using them to
resolve technical problems.
* Possesses a good understanding of business requirements and IT
strategies.
* Experience in data extraction, migration, queuing, normalization
techniques and entity relationship modeling.
* Analyzes functional needs that drive the technical design of quality
technical solutions.
* Prepare project artifacts such as detailed design documents, data
flow diagrams, test scripts, run book etc.
* Familiarity with standard development toolkits including source
repositories (TFS), SQL interpreters (SQL Developer), IDEs.
