REQUIREMENTS :

Role: Oracle EssBase Administrator/Developer ( 4+ years overall experience with 1+ years currently working in Essbase development/administration)
Location: Irving ,TX
Duration: 3-6 Months Contract to Hire
Salary When Hire: 80K – 110K Depending on experience.
* Candidate MUST be LOCAL OR Ready to do Face to Face interview *


Purpose/Objective;



The Oracle EssBase Administrator/Developer will have responsibility for the day-to-day administration, development and maintenance of the Oracle EssBase environment. This position works closely with members of the finance department to ensure accurate loading of information into EssBase from source systems. Position will also gain experience working with our IBM Netezza data warehouse as it is transitioned to be the primary source of information for EssBase. This individual will work with business stakeholders, external companies and other members of the information technology team to understand and define requirements.



Responsibilities:

Design, troubleshoot and maintain EssBase cube outlines using EssBase Administrative Services.
Design, troubleshoot and maintain data load rules and scripts using ESSCMD and MAXL.
Define and maintain rules for updating cube outlines.
Design, troubleshoot and maintain calculation scripts, security filters and groups.
Manage application security using shared services and external (LDAP) authentication.
Design and troubleshoot Excel retrieval templates and worksheet option settings.


Working Relationships/Contacts



Daily contact and interaction with:

IS staff and management
Corporate support staff (e.g. Finance)
ACE business partners and vendors for co-development of common solutions


Experience & Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or related field



Industry: 1+ years with Oracle EssBase administration, development and maintenance as the primary area of responsibility. Essbase Version: 11.1.2.2 or later

1+ years with Data Warehouse technology - IBM Pure Data System for Analytics Netezza

Overall, 4+ years’ experience in Information Technology.



Functional and Technical:

Thorough understanding of defining cubes in EssBase and loading those cubes with data.
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel to view EssBase data and the use of VBA scripting with Microsoft Excel.
Understand the use of batch cmd.exe scripts in a Windows operating system.
Demonstrate an understanding of SQL to acquire information from source systems.
Troubleshoot any data discrepancies in Essbase
Document all jobs and data movement procedures to and from Essbase
Monitor the health and performance of the Essbase system


Communication and Leadership:

Excellent problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Ability to drive solutions and perform deliver solutions both independently and within a team environment
Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills with business and technical communities.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions on-time and within budget.


Overall: This position will have the primary responsibility for administering, developing and maintaining Clients ’s Oracle EssBase environment. Must be self-motivated, pleasantly aggressive, realistically ambitious, punctual and have high personal ethics. Must be able to develop professional and personal relationships with co-workers and end-users. Must be a positive and people-oriented person that can communicate well (verbal and written) who is able to assume a leadership role on projects.
