As an Oracle Database/Netezza Engineer III, you will be a member of Client’s Database Support Team. This position''s responsibilities include daily production support for the Oracle and Netezza database infrastructure. These database platforms are maintained on Linux (Oracle and Netezza This position is also responsible for maintaining and managing the standards, documentation, backup and recovery, design, and implementation of the physical data storage, virtualization of databases, maintenance, patching, installation, capacity planning, access, security administration (vulnerability assessment and protection of data), performance and availability, data integrity, and troubleshooting of all assigned databases.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ work experience as an Oracle DBA in an enterprise data center environment; OR
High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 10 years’ work experience as an Oracle DBA in an enterprise data center environment.
Additional Requirements:
Possess strong knowledge of Oracle 11g+ in a Linux environment
Experience with Netezza in a Linux environment
Provide oversight, mentoring, and leadership to less-experienced staff
Provide on-call support for production environment, conduct root cause analysis for issues
Assist development teams with development, testing, tuning, and implementation of database applications
Possess experience with virtualization of database platforms and environments
Provide proactive monitoring of the database instances, and take preventive steps to ensure high availability and optimal performance
Possess a working knowledge and use of RMAN for backup and recovery
Have strong experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, including setup and configuration
Possess a working knowledge of Spotlight for Oracle
Strong technical abilities, quick study of new technology via on-the-job training, the intellect to resolve complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, senior-level technicians, and management
Have experience with setting up and maintaining an enterprise disaster recovery environment, using tools such as Data Guard and DBVisit
Ability to be on call 24x7 and participate in an on-call rotation
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with peers and customers.

Experience with DB2 on AIX
Experience with TOAD and DB*Visualizer
Experience with Data Guard and OEM
Experience with Aginity Workbench for Netezza
Certifications in Oracle, DB2, Netezza, ITIL
UNIX-based scripting languages
Banking/financial services industry experience
