Our client, one of world’s largest distributors of Healthcare systems, Medical supplies & Pharmaceutical products, seeks accomplished Oracle DBA.

* Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship *

* Possibility of conversion to FTE *

Description:
Responsible for planning, coordinating and administering databases including Production. Support production Oracle databases. General Oracle DBA functions.
Will be part of an on call rotation.

Qualifications:
6+ years'' experience in database administration managing OLTP environments.
Detailed knowledge of database definition, structure, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.
Needs to be proficient, configuration and troubleshooting Grid infrastructure and Clusterware and proficient in managing the databases under this infrastructure.
Needs to have a very good working knowledge of failover and high availability. Detailed knowledge of the Oracle data dictionary.
Needs to have implemented Data guard and standby systems. Knowledge of DataBroker a plus.
Must have worked with OLTP systems – 24x7x365. Healthcare or banking industry experience a plus as someone who has handled PHI.
Performance tuning -troubleshoot using execution plans, being able to diagnose issues using AWR reports, understanding of SQL baselines a plus.
Oracle RMAN backup and recovery - managing backups. Should have deep knowledge about RAC. Knowledge of patching Oracle databases and the cluster.
Installing and upgrading Oracle database and applications. Very good working knowledge of OEM, ability to configure OMS, set up alerts.
Should have demonstrated knowledge and experience troubleshooting, tuning and monitoring database(s) including the use of OEM and other Oracle performance tools.

Additional Skills:
Working knowledge of Oracle Linux and Storage. Experience with Oracle 11.2 and higher. Working knowledge of 12c a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self- starter. Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure. Good organizational skills.
Good Linux scripting skills.
