Job Title: Oracle DBA
Location: Richmond, VA 23219
Duration: 12 months
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have 7 years’ experience as an Oracle DBA and will possess and apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to carry out all aspects of the job of Oracle database support. The successful candidate will have direct experience handling the following tasks:
Oracle database administration experience with Oracle 12C on the Unix/Linux operating system.
Expertise on database administration, migration, cloning on 12C Multitenant databases
Manage and support various backup and recovery strategies for Oracle databases (e.g. RMAN, Export/import, Standby databases with Data Guard
Monitor and tune database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control.
Upgrade and patching of the Oracle Database.
Shell script programming to automate routine DBA tasks.
Experience managing, maintaining a production RAC database environment with Strong Oracle RAC performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of Oracle ASM administration.
Solid understanding of Oracle internal architecture.

Experience in database software management (installation, patching and version management Must have Oracle RAC experience Familiarity with data replication technologies.
Additional Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Summary:
Supports multiple (>50) Oracle databases on Unix/Linux operating systems.
Responsible for software, creation, support, and administration of Oracle databases and Oracle RAC.
Works in collaboration with multiple business units to provide complex problem resolution for project teams.
Evaluate and research new database features and technologies.
Mentors and trains less experienced database analysts.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting a large Oracle database environment.
Should be able to multi task and handle multiple projects efficiently
Monitor and optimize performance issues at the application and database level.
Plan, design, implement, enhance and maintains complex databases, access methods, database security, and audit & regulatory requirements.
