Oracle DBA
Pittsburg, PA
3 Month Contract with possible extension.
This is an APPLICATION DBA position. Client needs a strong, highly experienced DBA.
We are seeking an Application DBA to support our IT team. In this role, you will improve our processes and help us improve the performance of our Oracle Databases. You will help us write better code and scripts to improve performance.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Oracle DBA on large-scale enterprise applications, including distributed and J2EE applications in a large development environment
Demonstrated experience translating conceptual design and object models into logical and physical data models
In depth knowledge of and experience with Oracle databases on UNIX/Solaris, including database performance analysis
Demonstrable skills in the installation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching of SQL Server databases in a heterogeneous environment
Experience working with Control-M is preferred
Experience working as an Oracle DBA in an AIX environment is highly preferred
Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
You should expect to do a combination of the following in this role:
Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, and patch Oracle databases
Improve business object/database table mappings and structures, fail-over strategies, and distributed data
Code reviews
Performance tuning
Make improvements to our data modeling scheme
Mentoring of more junior team members
Refine the disaster recovery plan and methodology for all production databases
Maintain and publish the database installation/operation guide and other pertinent documentation
Ensure database migration scripts and programs meet data integrity, performance, and security objectives
