The Manager is willing to look at candidates with a variety of years of experience, but we will not be able to shortlist any candidates with less than 5 years of work experience. Only the candidates who possess 5 years of working experience and the majority or all of the experience listed below will be eligible for the max rate for this position.

*Please Note: this position will be sitting in a DXC office. Strong communication and Teamwork skills are required to be successful in this position. Candidates, along with displaying from past the experience, must display the ability to interact, troubleshoot, idea generate and problem solve



Candidates will need to reside in the greater Nashville, TN area as the position is 100% onsite!



Interview Details:

- 1st round will be a phoen screen with the Hiring Manager.

We are seeking an Oracle DBA for our healthcare client in Nashville, TN.


Oracle Database Administrator position:

The Oracle Database Administrator creates and maintains Oracle 11g and 12c databases hosted on multiple physical platforms.



Job Duties/Functions:

Performs general database administrative tasks including user account management, access control, database optimization and error resolution

Participates on project teams and works cooperatively with other IT professionals to achieve project results

Interacts with a diverse group of database users including end users as well as IT management

Utilizes a help desk and ticketing system for tracking issues to resolution

Works with application developers to optimize and tune programmatic database access

Requirements

Must have 5 years of experience or more professional experience in administering Oracle databases

A bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field of study

Must be able to perform the following DBA tasks:

o Monitor production systems and databases daily using Enterprise Manager

o Create or copy databases as needed

o Promote data model changes through multiple test and production environments

o Create and manage documentation for databases and processes

o Follow established processes to perform daily and ad hoc tasks

o Partition databases based on growth and performance

o Grant, control and delete database access based on security requests

o Maintain secure databases including periodic password changes

o Ensure that database backups are working properly and perform ad-hoc backups as needed

o Recommend run-time improvements (RTIs) for batch processes

o Interact with stakeholders from various groups on database-related matters

o Develop and distribute database performance reports

o Restore databases to a prior backups or to a point in time

o Monitor database performance through (AWR) Automated Workload Repository and optimize when appropriate

o Monitor system for invalid objects

o Create or modify backup scripts

o Plan for and monitor database space usage

o Assist developers with coding, performance and system issues

o Perform SQL tuning and optimization

Preferred

Oracle certified in Oracle 11g

Oracle certified in Oracle 12c

Experience in a health care environment

Experience in utilizing the RedHat Linux and Oracle Solaris operating systems

Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, RAC, and GoldenGate
