Job Description :
DATABASE SPECIALIST shall be responsible for providing the planning, coordination, utilization and administration of Oracle relational databases, and other file organization and access methods. The manager shall be responsible for ensuring appropriate definition, organization, security, integrity, operational efficiency, operational support, scheduling and documentation of the databases. The manager shall act as the arbiter over the structure and contents of critical databases, establishing and enforcing rules, standards and guidelines. The manager will establish written guidelines for the overall use of database management systems. The manager is responsible for implementing highly complex projects. They shall be responsible for maintaining, modifying, updating, and providing quality assurance and performance-tuning for database, according to software specifications, IT protocols, and established business rules.

The database manager/administrator should have experience in the following management and technical areas:

Systems incorporating Sun Solaris 10, RHEL 5/6/7, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Oracle 11g/12c, and WebLogic.

Data modeling, data architectures and database design.

Knowledge of Datacentric records management.

Database schema and table configuration.

Content, Helpdesk, Ticketing, Workflow, and Knowledge Management tools and application. Confluence, JIRA, and Serena are the current tools.

Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
