Job Description:
Database Administrator III, 6-10 years’ experience Oracle Database Administrator to implement and administer databases within a multi-tiered environment. The Database Administrator will support Oracle. While the primary technology supported is Oracle, MSSQL Server knowledge/experience is also desirable. Most of the Oracle DBAs support MSSQL as well

Monitor/maintain/upgrade the Oracle database and assist the application team with performance tuning initiatives , and builds from the application vendor
Interface with business analysts and application developers to create and maintain physical data models based on the logical design
Monitor and tune databases to ensure peak performance
Design/implement backup and recovery solutions
Provide assistance to associates to resolve technical issues, document and implement best
practices for the database environments
Establish standards, controls and procedures to ensure data integrity and security
Perform capacity planning and projection for future growths
Provide on-call support on a rotation basis
Implement new database instances, create indexes, performance Tune Queries.
Install & setup Oracle 10g and above
Database backups, transfers
Database Upgrade, Migrations
Modify/Rewrite Oracle triggers and links wherever needed
DBA Support for post-conversion
DB performance monitoring & analysis
Bachelors degree or demonstrated equivalent competency
Proficient in administering and tuning Oracle Databases (10G and 11G)
Experience with Oracle database upgrade to 11G preferred
Experience with OEM and other Oracle database tools (Toad, Foglight) preferred
2-3 years DBA experience in Oracle on an AIX platform
Ability to expand business relationships and work independently
Certifications in specific area of consulting focus
Strong customer service skills
Hands on exp with Oracle database
Exp in upgrades, conversions Exp in writing/modifying db triggers & links
Exp with MS SQL Server is a Plus
